I’m trying to crochet an amigurumi heart. So far it’s looking like an amigurumi blob.

Hilarious…
Hmm, I guess it’s a good thing I don’t watch the news…
Me, today
The first recorded mention of the performance of gay marriages occurred during the early Roman Empire.
At least two of the Roman Emperors were in gay unions. The first Roman emperor to have married a man was Nero, who is reported to have married two other men on different occasions. Nero “married a man named Sporus in a very public ceremony… with all the solemnities of matrimony, and lived with him as his spouse” A friend gave the “bride” away “as required by law.”The marriage was celebrated separately in both Greece and Rome in extravagant public ceremonies. The emperor Elagabalus married an athlete named Hierocles in a lavish public ceremony in Rome amidst the rejoicings of the citizens.

I saw this film yesterday and was thouroughly impressed. And moved. Everyone was so sublime in it; HBC portrayed a spirited, intelligent and loving queen and Geoffrey Rush’s perfomance was just heartwarmingly endearing and funny.
But Colin Firth! Oh Colin Firth; he stole the show in my opinion. That man can say more with his eyes than most actors can in endless dialogues. He conveyed Bertie’s bravery and frustration and paralising fear with such heart it nearly broke mine.
As someone with an occasional stammer (mostly when I’m tired), I could relate to the subject; the enormous frustration of not being able to get the words out and often just wishing you could simply remain quiet. And the embarrasment. The opening scene of Bertie standing in front of that crowd and that dreaded microphone that amplified every hesitation, every started but not finished word; it broke my heart.
In short; I loved this film. For the lovely actors, for the incredibly funny moments, for the wit and feistiness and for the heart.

I could just buy everything from this shop… Everything is so pretty and sweet and whimsical.

Went outside just now to enjoy this beautiful sunny day.
Found a dead mouse on the backyard path. Such is life with cats…
Still, it’s a beautiful day today.
